The European elections have been a clear success for the Flemish parties. In spite of the decrease of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) it is, again, the winner with 954,048 votes (22,44 %) and 3 MEPS. In 2014 the centrist party won 1,123,355 and 26,67 with 4 MEPs. The Vlaams Beland lead by Tom Van Grieken gros from 284,856 (6,76 %) to 811,169 (19,08 %). The pro independence party has now 3 MEPs up to one in 2014.
