Asturies budget "miserable", "ridiculous" and "insufficient" : a grow of 0,04 % for the language, Xunta criticizes

The Xunta pola Defensa de la Llíngua Asturiana (Asturian Language Defence Council) has criticized by "miserable", "ridiculous" and "insufficient" the budgets agreed this week by leftist parties PSOE, IU and Podemos. The group claims that "the General Directorate of Linguistic Planning and Normalization is the department with the lowest budget of the entire regional administration" and criticizes the allocation reserved for the promotion of the Bable in the Asturian public broadcasting. They are 70,000 euros, "0.04 % of the accounts," highlights the group". The budget for the language is up € 70,000 € until € 1.703.630.

Bretagne Réunie achieves in collecting 100,000 signatures in favor of a consultation on the reunification of Brittany

Bretagne Réunie has succeeded in collecting 100,000 signatures from Loire-Atlantique residents who are in favor of a consultation on the department's attachment to Brittany. The ball is now in the camp of the county council.

"A paper petition with 100,000 signatures is unheard of in France! Yet, many people have laughed at us, even in the Breton movements." The leaders of the association Bretagne Réunie can savor their first victory. After two years of hard work on the ground, they have just obtained what they hoped for: the 100,000 signatures from inhabitants of the Loire-Atlantique favorable to the launch of a consultation on the attachment of the department to the Region Brittany. And this Tuesday evening, in Naoned/Nantes, Henry Colliot, Paul Loret and Peter Le Gueve ldelivered their copies, carefully classified in 21 boxes of archives and by way of usher, with the departmental council.

New splinter party from Sinn Féin

The New People's Movement is a breakaway anti-abortion, nationalist/republican party being set up by former Sinn Fein TD Peadar Toibin is organising meetings across the country and has already recruited two councillors, Sinn Fein Kildare councillor Ide Cussen and former Sinn Fein Cork councillor Ger Keohane.Mr Toibin said he had experienced an “avalanche of interest” in just the last week since he formally resigned from Sinn Fein and announced a new 32 County movement.

“Its like watching a pressure cooker have the weights taken off it,” he said. “There is so much pent up frustration in the Irish political system.”

Grassroots organisation
Toibin said his new party will be a grassroots, activist organisation which will take decisions collectively among its members. He urged people to be patient. “Hundreds of people have contacted us,” he said. “We are getting through you expressions of interest as fast as we can.”Meetings which have been organised so far include Kildare, Dublin, Tralee, Cavan, Navan, Dundalk, Wexford, Mayo and Monaghan.

Draft Manifesto
The party’s draft manifesto declares: “We seek an Irish Republic, where the objectives of the 1916 Proclamation, to ‘Cherish all the Children of the Nation Equally’, are achieved.”
One of its core values is that it believes “all human life should be protected and that no mother or child should be left behind”.The party is a “Euro-critical party” -- one that opposes European federalism and a European army. It also states it will be a party that protects the freedom of conscience of elected representatives.

Councillor Cussen said she resigned from Sinn Fein due to there being no freedom of conscience within the party in relation to the abortion issue. While she said her resignation was a sad day for her, she said she intends to “stand shoulder to shoulder” with Mr Toibin.

Sixth splinter party
It would be the fifth political party with roots in Sinn Fein to form since 1986, the others being:
- Republican Sinn Fein (1986),
- 32 County Sovereignty Movement (1997),
- Éirigí (2006),
- Republican Network for Unity (2007)

- Saoradh (2016).

Vlaams Belang gathers 379 newly elected provincial and provincial council members

In the 140 Flemish municipalities where Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) has elected people since the municipal elections of 14 October, the party will submit a proposal for a foreign nation tax in the new city council. That was announced on November 24th on the mandatarissenday of the Vlaams Belang in Edegem, where the 379 newly elected provincial and regional council members gathered under the slogan 'Eerst onze mensen' (First our people).

At the beginning of last year, the federal government decided that cities and municipalities could levy a fee of € 50 for the renewal or extension of a temporary residence card for foreign nationals. It is awarded to, among others, asylum seekers and labor migrants. The preparation of the necessary documents will result in an additional workload and costs for the local authorities. Moreover, citizens with the Belgian nationality also have to pay for their identity card. According to Vlaams Belang, it is therefore no more than just that non-Belgians also do that.
