Corsican National Movement Honor Ponte Novu's Fighters

The battle of Ponte Nova was the last one fought by a Corsican army. That day Corsica lost its independence. On May 9th 1769 the French royalist troops defeated the Corsican Republican army led by Pasquale Paoli. Two hundred and fifty years later several Corsican national parties (Corsica Libera, Core in Fronte, Femu a Corsica, Partitu di a Nazione Corsa) and grassroots groups (Patriotti) honored the Paoli's fighters. A conference by Antonine-Marie Grazini was followed by a Catholic mess a reconstruction of the battle age by A Sampetrina and a meal.
