The Council of the Frisian Movement, Ried fan de Fryske Beweging, would like to keep a close eye on what is happening in the field of Frisian language, Frisians and Fryslân, there are limited terms for board members: the basic term of four years can be extended at most two times. As a result, at the end of 2018, two board members are leaving: Siem van der Vlas, responsible for the Frisian Advertising Award and contacts with other organizations and Renze Valk, writer for years, who has been the personification of the Frisian Movement. Political adviser Sybren Posthumus also said goodbye to the last board meeting.
Board members are usually delegated by affiliated organizations, but can also come from the centers of the donors. Recently, some new members of the board have been welcomed, but in view of all that the Council has on prime, there is still room for new.
