Dissident Republicans tried to
murder British police officers during an attack in Craigavon, County Armagh, at about midnight on Friday 26th July, a loud bang was heard in the Tullygally Road area of the town. A "viable device" was later found. Police said they believe the attack was set up to target officers responding to a call from the public. Continuity IRA claimed the attack.
