Galician National Bloc (BNG) tribute to Castelao



The Galician National Bloc (BNG) remembered A.D. R. Castelao in Rianxo last January 12th. Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao (30 January 1886 – 7 January 1950), commonly known as Castelao, was a Galician politician, writer, painter and doctor. He is one of the fathers of Galician national movement, promoting Galician identity and culture, and was one of the main names behind the cultural movement Xeración Nós. He was also one of the founders and president of the Galicianist Party.

The Bloc organized an act of tribute to Castelao where the leader of the party, Ana Pontón, referred to the investigation by the Office of the Prosecutor about the death of two persons. Ana Pontón asked PP leader (Spanish party founded by Fascists Franco's Ministers) Feijóo "how many more people have to die" so that "cuts in health" are over?. The national spokesperson of the BNG accused the president of the Xunta (Galician government), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, of "destroying" the health to "coup of cuts and privatizations" and has questioned "how many more people have to die to be end the cuts in the public health system."
