Huge Independence Rally in Glasgow

Thousands of independence supporters heard Nicola Sturgeon call for "Scotland's future to be put into Scotland's hands" on November 2nd. The first minister told a major rally in Glasgow the time would come to break away from the "chaos of Westminster" in a second independence poll next year.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has said a new Scottish independence referendum was not "desirable or necessary".
The Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats also oppose a further vote. Ms Sturgeon was one of a number of SNP politicians and independence campaigners to speak at the #indyref2020 rally in George Square.It was the first time she had spoken at an independence rally since 2014.
The event prompted a counter demonstration by dozens of unionist supporters who waved flags and blew whistles as supporters of Scottish independence gathered.

The SNP leader focused on the UK-wide election on 12 December at the event, which was organised by The National newspaper.
She has made it clear that she wants to hold a poll on the issue next year and said the general election was a "crossroads moment" for Scotland.

60,000 euros were allocated for conferences on the protection of minority languages in Friuli

On October 30th the draft law was approved by 26 yes and 13 no. Five Star Movement abstained. The aim was to adapt the existing legislation to changes in the institutional structure of the Region and local authorities, but also to harmonize the regional laws concerning minority languages ​​protected in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The draft law "Provisions for the protection and promotion of the Slovenian, Friulian and German linguistic minorities of Friuli Venezia Giulia" approved by the regional council supposes:

- the simplification of the procedure for the allocation of the provisioning quota of the Fund to support the activities of the bodies and organizations of the Slovenian linguistic minority


- the regional register of associations of the Friulian linguistic minority is then established at the competent Central Directorate. Two tasks are assigned to the ARLeF-Regional Agency of the Friulian language:

1) the first concerns the competence for compiling the list of public and private subjects authorized to issue the linguistic certification of knowledge of the Friulian languageç

2) the realization of didactic material for the teaching of the Friulian language and in the realization of documentation activities, research and didactic experimentation.

Finally, the expenses for the "Third regional conference on the protection of the Friulian linguistic minority" and the "First regional conference on the protection of German-speaking minorities in Friuli Venezia Giulia" were quantified, to verify the state of implementation of the interventions provided for by law , gathering proposals for their adaptation to the emerged needs and defining new guidelines. In the first case 20 thousand euros were allocated, while for the second conference 40 thousand euros.

Assembly of the Hungarian National Council of Transylvania Mets

The National Delegate Assembly of the Hungarian National Council of Transylvania (Erdélyi Magyar Nemzeti Tanács Országos Küldöttgyűlése) met in Miercurea-Ciuc on October 26th. Nearly a hundred delegates attending the conference room of the Fenyő Hotel reviewed the events of the past two years, determined the future strategy of the organization and re-elected László Tőkés as the president of the organization.

Süd-Tiroler Freiheit National Assembly

The speeches of Eva Klotz, Sven Knoll, Myriam Atz Tammerle and Cristian Kollmann expressed the commitment of the party South Tyrolean Freedom. 1,500 form the new Venetians Party

The Venetians Party (Partito dei Veneti) was formed officially in Padova on October 19th. Grande Nord, Indipendenza Veneta, Gruppo Chiavegato, Bard (Belluno autonomo regione Dolomiti), Rete 22 ottobre (lead by the former Lega MP Flavio Tossi), Siamo Veneto, Progetto Veneto autonomo, Veneto Stato, Prima il Veneto and Popolo di San Marco form the new party. "The galaxy of Venetian movements does not exist anymore; we're united in a single party".

More than 1,500 people took part in the foundation of the party. Among them the regional MP Antonio Guadagnini. Giacomo Mirto was elected as a national coordinator. His main work will be to form lists for the next regional elections in 2020.

Strage del Pane events remembered by Sicilian independentists

The "Strage del pane" was a popular revolt in Palermo against the Italian army in 1944. Twenty four people died. It was a main point for the formation of the Esercito volontario per l'indipendenza della Sicilia (EVIS). On October 19th dozens of people convoked by the Comitato Vespro 2019 and Siciliani Liberi remembered the events.

Thousands Protest Italian Military in Sardinia

Forty two movements joined A Foras-Contra a s'ocupatzione militare de sa Sardigna on October 12th in a march in Capo Frasca against the military bases in the island. Sardinian nationa movements as Sardigna Natzione or Liberu joined the march and expressed their solidarity with the Kurdish people. Fridays for Future also joined the rally which was a pacifist claim.

In Carghjese, "a Corsican popular approach of resistance" launched

292 people were gathered yesterday to support the creation of the anti-mafia group that bears the name of the young activist independence, Massimu Susini. Residents of the village, the whole Ajaccian region, but also in Corsica answered the call of Jean-Toussaint Plasenzotti, the maternal uncle of Maxime Susini.

All came to hear the reasons that drove Maxime Susini's family, to set up this second group, after the creation of a dozen days ago of Mafià nò, a vità iè, led by Léo Battesti. If Paul-Felix Benedetti was in the audience, the leader of Core in Fronte remained quiet, obviously respecting the will of this initiative to remain apolitical as well as Petru Poggioli, a veteran pro independence militant leader.

Once again, Maxime Susini's uncle does not mince words. He denounces "the alliance of gangs of thugs" who serve themselves "help us to kill such a man in Ajaccio, we will help you get rid of him who embarrasses you in Carghjese", the impotence of the state but also connivance between thugs and "part of the economic world and the political world". "We must build a popular approach of resistance (...) Real estate speculation is highlighted by representatives of environmental associations. 200,000 people took part in the Edinburgh Scottish Independence March

All Under One Banner organised the pro-independence event which saw huge crowds leave Holyrood Park on October 5th at 1pm. They then make their way through the city centre via Queens Drive, Horse Wynd, up towards the Royal Mile on Canongate and High Street, up to Lawnmarket, over George IV Bridge, on to Forrest Road and then into The Meadows using Middle Meadow Walk.

Edinburgh south west MP Joanna Cherry (Scottish National Party) was among those giving speeches at the event, which follows on from previous marches in Glasgow, Ayr, Aberdeen and elsewhere across Scotland. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon took to social media this morning to say that, while she couldn't be there in person, she wishes good luck to all attending the rally.
