Trial to 20 Venetians for "criminal association and incitement not to pay taxes"

The Veneto National Liberation Committee (CNLV) rallied in Vicenza on September 11th. Pro independence militants supported 20 defendants because "we are for taxes only to the Serenissima Republic".
With the flags of the Lion of S. Marco and with the banners praising the Veneto National Liberation Committee lead by Patrizia Badii, "member of the Venetian National Authority and Head of Defense"as well as defendant. Investigations started in 2017 for "criminal association and incitement not to pay taxes".

They are accused of not wanting to pay taxes to this state, in which they do not recognize themselves because they want the historical nations of the Italian peninsula to be reborn. "The Italian state that instructs processes if one tells the truth"- All the more so as Patrizia Badii, the Florentine Serenissima, barely holds back tears among her own choirs because in a world of convenient conveniences she is willing to pay for her ideals.

Rally to denounce Spanish Supremacism over the Galician language

The rally was called in A Coruña city under the slogan "Liberdade para o galego” (Freedom for the Galician language). The social movement A Mesa pola Normalización Lingüística dennounced on September 11th exclusion of the Galician from an award for university work from all over the state. Around thirty people took part in the protest.

Hundreds Rally for Asturies Independence

Lluchando Pola Soberanía (Fighting for Sovereignty) rallied on September 8th in Uviéu under the slogan ‘Asturies tiempu de nós’ (Astustia it's our time). The march denounced the social situation and claimed for feminist politics with two workshops at the end of the rally. demonstrators also demanded the Asturian language to be official. Asturian isnot official because Spain does not recongnize it. The political party Andecha Astur and the labor union Corriente Sindical d’Izquierda (CSI) as well as social movements as Mieres gave their support to the vindication. Lluchando Pola Soberanía also organized a mountain march in Grau under the slogan 'Asturies has not king'.

Sicilian independentists march to remember the Camiciotti revolt against the Bourbon army in 1848

The event called by the Vespro Committee (Comitato Vespro) with support of Antudo, Gran Sicilia and Fajdda was held on September 7th. Since its foundation the Committee has guided its course on the assumption that Sicilian history can become a terrain of political struggle when it is freed from the misrepresentation and falsifications imposed by the colonial system. "With this new appointment we intend to recall to mind that glorious episode of our history and to reaffirm our ever stronger determination against the internalizing devices of colonialism. - say the organizers who continue: "Today as yesterday, in fact, Sicily is a colony; the Sicilian people are subordinate. By erasing our identity, our values ​​and the heroisms of our ancestors, they have taken away our ability to inspire us into our past to make us manipulable and submissive. Not phantom and improbable saviors coming from outside, but only a people aware of their identity and aware of their own strength can save Sicily ”.

The procession, rich in flags marched through the roads of Messina that, in September 1848, were affected by the popular mobs of opposition to the Bourbon army. Messina remembers the heroic example of the Camiciotti during the 5 days of Messina, a revolt against the oppression of the Bourbons which lasted from 3 to 7 September 1848.

The Camiciotti were the components of two battalions that together reached about 1000 units of the total 6000 that opposed the invader. They were young with poor military training but, despite this, they proved to be the most disciplined and generous. In fact, after fighting fiercely against the Bourbon army, they lost their lives trying to cover up the flight of their comrades. The 5 days of Messina mark a very important historical passage within the scenario of European revolutions. Many still try to give a false interpretation of those days. Many tell the Sicilian '48 (and even before '47) as if it were the revolt of the people that started the Italian Risorgimento and that already carried within it the demands of the Unity of Italy. What we know with certainty is that '48 was a year of revolts in Sicily against the Bourbons. Those who claimed to use it as a possession, subjecting it to wanting away from the interests of the Sicilians. Reasons that led to the establishment of the Sicilian Republic. Remembering these events is important because it is important to rebuild a Sicilian historical memory erased by more than 150 years of colonization.

The Sami Girjas Case at the Swedish Supreme Court

The Girjas case started in the Swedish Supreme Court on September 2nd. In 2009 the Girjas Sámi Village and Swedish Sámi National Union (SSR) went to court against the Swedish State to try who has the right to manage small-game hunting and fishing on the reindeer pastures of Girjas Sámi Village in the mountains. This case has gone through the two lower courts, and today the case started in the Swedish supreme court. The case will be handled over 6 weeks, is of principal importance, and has attracted high attention both among Sámi peoples and mainstream society. Welsh independence rally in Merthyr Tydfil draws more than 5,000 people

AUOB Cymru, a grassroots movement which organises marches calling for Welsh independence, is supported by groups including Yes Cymru but is not affiliated to any political party. AUOB Cymru spokesman Llywelyn ap Gwilym said: "With the anti-democratic mess that is currently happening in Westminster, it is more important than ever for Wales to make its voice heard, and for the people of Wales to realise that there is a viable alternative: independence."

 Previous marches in Cardiff and Caernarfon in May and July are thought to have attracted 3,000 and 10,000 participants respectively, according to organisers. The Welsh Government spokesman added that it was "fiercely devolutionist and firmly believes in a strong union, which respects and reflects the distinct identities and interests of the UK's four nations".

Organisers All Under One Banner Cymru estimated 5,300 people attended the rally on September 7th and said the situation in Westminster meant Wales needed to make "its voice heard".
The Welsh Government said: "We support a strong devolution settlement for Wales within a strong United Kingdom."
It is the third march, following demonstrations in Cardiff and Caernarfon earlier this year.
"I've been waiting for this moment, this awakening, for a long time," said broadcaster Butler, a former Wales and Pontypool rugby captain.
He was joined by former Wales and Everton goalkeeper Southall and poet and playwright Patrick Jones.
"The shenanigans in Westminster this week are the best recruitment tool for Welsh independence," said Phyl Griffiths, chairman of the Yes Merthyr group, which organised the event.

People started gathering in Penderyn Square from early morning and it was the location for a later rally, after the march through the town.
Merthyr Tydfil-raised singer Kizzy Crawford said she was taking part because she was "disappointed with the racism, fascism, unfairness and chaos" she had seen in politics recently.

Eusko Alkartasuna Basque party highly divided

The social-democratic party founded in 1980 as a split of the Basque Nationalist Party takes part of the pro independence coalition EH Bildu. Its role in the coalition is the basic problem. The party's general secretari resigned in June being replaced by Joseba Gezuraga. The direction defends to blend EA inside EH Bildu but a critical faction wants to keep the coalition ans EA as a party. The founder of EA, Karlos Garaikoetxea, has alerted that the party could disappear and has dennounced that EA has less level in EH Bildu now than in 2011.  Garaikoetxea, former Basque Country president, has called for a extraordinary congress. Gezuraga's leadership to hide databases to militants before the party's primary elections.

Continuity IRA: "We are regrouping - more attacks are coming"

A CIRA (Continuity Irish Republican Army) spokesperson told Swedish SVT Nyheter (News) that the recent attacks will continue. The group has been responsible of recent attacks. On July 26, police were called after a bomb was found. A second bomb on August 19 exploded at the border between Northern Ireland and Ireland, police soon identified the Continuity IRA (CIRA) as responsible.


"The attacks were a response to the presence of British forces in the country and those attacks will continue. The Brexit has a certain impact, but it doesn't matter what the UK does". When asked by Swedish journalist: "How does CIRA justify its attacks when few in the country support it?
"We do not need to justify our actions to anyone," the spokesman told SVT.  "We think that is the right way."

 The CIRA emerged in 1986 as a branch of the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA), paramilitary who fought for a united Ireland independently from the British through guerrilla war and terrorist attacks. The PIRA officially disarmed after the 1998 UK-Ireland peace treaty, but the CIRA  opposed it.

Memorial service for Tyrolean fighter Luis Amplatz

55 years ago freedom fighter Luis Amplatz was murdered on behalf of Italy. The lieutenant of the  Grieser Schützenkompanie had been shot cowardly by a paid Italian agent in his sleep.
At the memorial service, Eva Klotz Südtiroler Freiheit) emphatically explained the events and the last hours in the life of Luis Amplatz. More than 300 people took part in the commemoration by Südtiroler Heimatbundes, Süd-Tiroler Freiheit, and Südtiroler Schützenbundes of the freedom fighter Luis Amplatz last Sunday September 1st despite a more than one-hour walk on the Brunner Mahdern above Saltaus in the Passeiertal valley.
