The Sardinia's President, Christian Solinas, explained how are they ruling: "Surely we have done few press conferences and we will do few, we want the facts to speak, judge us by facts and not words ". The occasion was the birthday party, turning off the 98 candles on the cake of Italy's longest living party, said the Councilor for Urban Planning Quirico Sanna. The feast was in Porto Torres from 12 to 14 July.
The star of the evening was Christian Solinas. "No political party in Italy can boast 98 years of history - said Solinas - . It is an important number but our strength is that just when we celebrate our 98th birthday we are already thinking about the next 98. We owe it to the men who founded the Sardinian Action Party almost a hundred years ago, on their return from the trenches of the First World War. We must realize their dreams and we must do so even for those who, like us, believe that Sardinia has the clay in order to get out of the crisis. And that it can unite, without distinction between territories or factions. I am not referring to heavy chemistry or aluminum production, which are peculiarities of other territories. We must develop our strengths and create a region that can offer all Sardinians the chance to live in Sardinia without having to emigrate ».
