VB calls for a middle class revolt against the political elite and attacks N-VA for ruling with Socialists

The New Year reception of the pro independence party Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) attracted some 450 executives of the movement. The meeting was opened by Stefaan Sintobin in Bruges on January 20th called for a middle class revolt against the political elite. Vlaams Belang President Tom Van Grieken, made a parallel with the Battle of the Golden Spurs of 1302. Van Grieken explained the meaning of the slogan chosen by the party for the European, legislative and regional elections of May 26tg, "Bescherm onze mensen" ("Protecting our People") by denouncing the N-VA (New Flemish Alliance) for its announced share comes with community demands whereas the Flemish nationalists did not speak the N-VA has not kept its promise to rule Antwerp without the Socialists.
